Pls note that this article only applies to windows 8.1 or later when you have the start logo back at the bottom left of the screen.
Does not apply to windows 8 because microsoft windows 8 (initial version of windows 8 does not have the start logo! Microsft conveniently left them out
1) Press the windows logo + X key together, at the same time (2 buttons)
2) Press u (another sub menu should appear)
3) Press u again to shutdown the system!
